Amelia shared a special story with Room 21 this afternoon. It is the story of some New Zealand soldiers who were involved in the battle to liberate the French town, Le Quesnoy, at the end of World War 1. Amelia's great great uncle was involved in this battle. Sadly he died in it. Amelia's poppy helps her to remember the past - her great great uncle Walter who died, and her great great grandfather George, who survived the war.
We loved hearing the story and asking questions about it.
