Anzac Commemoration 2015

We sat on the field for our school's Anzac commemoration this afternoon.

Mr Limbrick welcomed our special guests and parents to our ceremony.

After a karakia, a Maori group sang a lovely waiata.

We had a flag flying at half mast to signify that some people have died and to show our respect to them.

Captain O'Connell from the New Zealand Navy spoke about the importance of Anzac Day 2015 and why we need to remember our fallen heroes.

Doug talked to us about his role as a peace keeper with the Air Force. He reminded us of the importance of keeping the peace.

The school choir sang three special songs.

Each class was given the opportunity to lay a wreath in honour of the Anzac hero they had been studying. Each wreath was unique and special, a fitting tribute to those we honour today.

We heard The Last Post, had the two minutes silence, then the Revielle was played. While it was played, the flag was raised again.

We will remember them.
