Listening to ideas about Easter

It is important to learn how other people celebrate holidays. In Room 21 today we talked about what we do at Easter.

Amelia's mum shared with the class a little bit about how her family celebrate Easter.

She told us that the cross on the hot cross bun is similar to the Anzac crosses because it means that someone died.

We learnt that we have an Easter holiday because of a story that happened 2000 years ago. Some of our friends were able to share parts of the story to the class.

We also went on an Easter egg hunt in the orchard behind the classrooms today! We worked together to look for plastic eggs. They were hiding in lots of places including the trees and in holes in the ground! A few people couldn't find any, but some of us shared our eggs so that everyone had at least one.

When we took our eggs to the classroom we looked inside them. There was a scrambled sentence in there which we had to sort out. Most of us were very good at making the correct sentence. Even though some of us were very tired, we were persistant and got our work finished. That made us feel proud of ourselves.
