Loving our dads
We love our dads and want to do something to show them we love them. We hope they like the cards we made them.
Ordering numbers
It is important to understand how numbers work so we have been practicing putting numbers to 20 in order.
Daffodil Day
Today is Daffodil Day. It is a fundraising day for the Cancer Society. We talked about daffodils and how yellow is a happy colour. After we made some daffodils out of paper, cupcake/patty pans and straws we put them in a mini garden!
Goodbye to Caspar
It was Caspar's last day in Room 19. We were lucky because his mum left us some yummy treats. Good luck at your new school Caspar! We will miss you.
Whole school assembly
Today we went to the whole school assembly where we were entertained by Items performed by Room 23 and Room 5 as well as the ukulele group. We did very well to sit still and quiet for more than one hour. Our teachers were impressed!

Number fans
We are making number fans to use like flashcards. They will help us learn our numbers up to 20. Today some of us cut the numbers out and strung them together. We will take our number fans home next week so we can practice with our families.
Making turtles
We are making the cutest turtles! We are gluing green paper onto little bowls then adding a head and legs.

Life Education
Some lucky children visited the Life Education classroom today. It was inside a truck! It had carpet on the walls! We were learning that each person is special and unique. Everyone has their own set of fingerprints that is uniquely theirs. We learnt that our body needs food and water to give us energy. We also learnt that we need to breathe clean fresh oxygen. We met Harold!
Learning about clock faces
We made some clocks today. We practiced cutting our numbers and ordering them around a clock face. We talked about the hands on a clock too and used split pins to attach them to our clocks.
Aaron B and Melanie did the best job at cutting out the numbers so they got a treat at the end of the day!
Star pupil
Mini was awarded the Star of the Week last week but the teachers forgot to present her with the certificate until this morning. Oops.

Red Nose Day
To celebrate Red Nose day we made our own red nose biscuits. We used marshmellows for our eyes, jaffas for our nose, banana lollies for our mouth and hundreds and thousands for our hair. They were YUM!
Hungry sharks
During the week we coloured in a hungry shark and an unlucky little fish. Our teacher laminated them and glued them on a peg so that the shark's mouth could open and close.
Red Nose Day fun
Today is Red Nose Day so we are celebrating! Thank you to our mums and dads who searched all over to find noses for us! Thank you to Hailie for bringing red face paint so that the children who couldn't find a red nose could get one after all.
Learning words
Three children are onto their second Sight Words card and three have graduated to their third card! We are going to have lots of clever readers soon!

Super fundraiser!
This is Braden! He is a champion fundraiser! He has brought in $70 to help with our new school playground. We're proud of you.
Aquariums
We have been drawing lots of different kinds of sea creatures with our jovies. Today our teacher painted over them with dye to make it look like they are swimming in an aquarium. We added a photo of ourselves with a snorkel.
Mr Seahorse
Mr Seahorse goes visiting someone's house every night after school. When he went to Juno's house last night she did some research about seahorses and wrote down some facts in our special discovery book.
Muddy bottoms
After so much rain we have a lot of mud around our school. Sometimes we have accidents at break times when we are playing. Please put a spare pair of clothes in our bag so we can change if we get dirty.

Dressing funny clowns
We watched some funny clown videos and then talked about their clothes and shoes. Some clowns wear striped clothes. Some wear spotted clothes. Clowns always wear lots of colours. We coloured in some clown clothes and glued them onto a crazy clown shape.
