Lesson from a story

On Mondays we visit the library. Our teachers always read us special stories there. Today our story was about how to recover from war.

We looked at the front cover and shared ideas about the messages it portrays. By listening to each other's views we were able to piece together the idea that dark, grey part refers to destruction and that the bright, colourful part represents the hope born after war.

Our story taught us that even after a war, two sides can come together as one again. This message is important and relevant in today's world where there is so much conflict.

In the lead-up to Anzac Day we will be discussing ways we can remember those who served and died for our country and learn about the senseless nature of war.
