Training our brains for 4-star processing

We are learning to add 2 numbers together. We used a virtual dice to help us practise adding. We also played games, e.g. Spiderweb, Dice More or Less Than and Cover Up Kiwi

 

We shared the different strategies we used to add the dice numbers and we realised that some of us used different strategies: counting all, counting on, doubles and knowledge of number facts.

At the end of the lesson, we made an analysis and realised that to help us have a 4-star processing brain for adding we need to know our number facts well. That will help us add numbers quickly.
