We went on stage for a performance during Ara Teina assembly at 9 o'clock.. We sang a Matariki song about the seven stars. It's called 'Tirama Tirama Matariki'. The seven stars are twinkling in the sky. The seven stars are: Matariki (purple), Tupu-a-nuku (yellow), Tupu-a-rangi (red), Waiti (green), Waita (blue), Waipuna-a-rangi (orange) and Ururangi (silver). Our parents came to watch our performance.
We were excited because we were going to sing the song for all the Year 1s and 2s. We felt happy standing in front of those classes. We felt like we were teachers when we taught Ara Teina how to sing and do the actions for the Matariki song.
