Ms Bland put some swan plants outside this morning hoping to attract a monarch butterfly. Sure enough, after our afternoon break we spotted one fluttering around. Just before home time we all went outside to watch her lay tiny eggs on the leaves! We were fascinated by it and got awfully excited!
Ms Bland was worried that the butterfly would lay too many eggs on our plants so she took the plants into the classroom. But the crazy butterfly followed her into the classroom and tried to lay even more eggs! We eventually shooed Miss Butterfly back outside but she kept hovering at the window trying to get back inside! We hope she found another safe place to lay her other eggs.
Now, we will be watching our little eggs to see when they hatch.
