Lantern decorating

In a room 21 we looked at some photos of cherry blossoms and noticed that they can be light pink, dark pink, or white. Lola knew that before a flower opens it is called a bud. Lola would like to be a florist when she grows up, so she took a special interest in the discussion.

The teachers had drawn the branches of a cherry tree on our lanterns and we painted the flowers. We learnt that another name for flower is blossom. We had a great time painting.

Sorry mums and dads. Some of us didn't realise that we touched our clothes with our painty fingers. We feel sorry for not paying attention to what we're doing.

The paint we used is acrylic paint so it should wash out fine.

Our lanterns are drying now. Hopefully we can hang them up under our deck tomorrow for everyone to see and enjoy!

Happy New Year to all our Chinese, Japanese and Korean friends!
