Learning to Spell

We have been learning how to sound out words so we can spell them ourselves.  We wrote the word 'run' today after our morning jog, then thought of other words that rhyme with it.  We learnt that some words rhyme but have a different spelling pattern.  Can you see what we mean?

While writing our words we revised the Casey Shapes so that we would know how to write the letters we need correctly.  You can see that we made some mistakes with that, so our teacher showed us how to cross out what is wrong before writing correctly.

Look at the spelling work one of our classmates did by himself today!  We think he is clever to be able to write so many rhyming words, especially the word 'one.'
