When students start school they are introduced to Magenta level readers. These books have little words like 'is' and 'I' and 'to'. Students must learn new skills, and master new sets of words in order to reach the next level.

Taking charge of our learning
As students we need to know what our learning goals are. Today Room 21 students were reminded that they are responsible for being good learners. Each student needs to know what reading level they are currently working on and what they are aiming for by the time they are six years old.
