Listening to sounds

In Room 21 the children have been checking the ending sounds in words. They listened to the word carefully then worked out which word ending was correct.

Jiya asked us to spell the word 'fatch' but some of her friends complained that 'fatch' is not a real word. Ms Bland told us that sometimes great authors like Dr Seuss make up words for fun. For example, Dr Seuss wrote a book called, 'There's a Wocket in My Pocket'. 'Wocket is not a real word. It is called a nonsense word! Sometimes nonsense words make stories sound so fun!
