Inspiring others

During the afternoon sessions the students split off into their electives, either book making or speed machines.

The students who chose to do speed machines were inspired by several students who brought cars that they have made at home.

Looking at the model cars that some boys made at home was inspiring. The students quickly set to work on their own speed machines. It was sometimes challenging to persevere when things were difficult. What is important is that all children learn to be resilient and to persist until the job is complete.

Here are some pictures of students working on their speed machines. They worked out by themselves who was going to use the hammer first.

At times these children were frustrated because they found it hard to solve a problem in their construction. The good thing was that they didn't give up and kept persevering until it was solved.

It was amazing to see how patient the children were while waiting for their turn to use the hammer.
