Investigating Number Patterns

Some of us finished our work fast so Ms Bland showed us something interesting using paper cups. 

She wrote numbers 1 to 20 on the cups then arranged them in order. 

Next, we helped to to make a skip counting pattern by hiding the first number then showing the next, hiding a number, showing a number...

When we finished our pattern looked like this...

What was interesting was that when we turned the cups around we saw a different skip counting pattern!
