Cricket

Today in Room 21 we talked about a very important cricket game that is to be played this coming weekend between Australia and New Zealand. 

We also learned that almost 100 years ago some soldiers played a game of cricket on the beach at Anzac Cove in Gallipoli, Turkey. The purpose of the game was to give the Turks the impression that everything in the ANZAC camp was perfectly normal! Little did the Turks know, but the ANZAC forces were secretly withdrawing from the peninsula!
