Writing with blocks!

We used blocks to help us spell words this morning.  First Miss Bland told us that each block meant one letter. She said that the first block was for a letter that makes the /a/ sound. The second block was for a word that makes the /t/ sound. We wrote down the word 'at.'  Next Miss Bland added a new block to the front of the first two so we knew the new word was going to have three letters in it!  The first block had a /h/ sound so we knew the word was 'hat!' When Miss Bland took away the /h/ block and replaced it with a /b/ block we spelt 'bat.'  We used this easy way to spell lots of rhyming words.
