New Zealand's Olympic champions

We enjoyed keeping track of New Zealand's success at the Olympic Games in London.  Each time a New Zealander won a medal our teacher put their photo up on the wall so we could see what sport it was from and to keep a record of how many gold, silver and bronze medals we had in total.

We learnt that the winner gets a gold medal. 
The person who comes second wins a silver medal
and the third place getter gets a bronze medal.


New Zealand athletes won...
6 gold medals,
2 silver medals,
and 5 bronze medals.
That's a total of 13 medals!


We made our own gold medals too.

Our teacher told us that at the ancient Olympics only the men competed.
We thought it was funny that they didn't wear clothes when doing their events!


We made a graph to show the medals won by New Zealander's at the Olympics.
